90 rating Wine Enthusiast “This wine has a bouquet of green apple, olives and pickled jalapeño. There is something pleasantly briny about it, with flavors of grapefruit and pineapple infused with a soft saline note and a light floral lift. A hint of jalapeño continues on the palate and is notable on the finish.” — Mike DeSimone
Txomin Etxaniz Getariako Txakolina Getaria
Txomin Etxaniz was founded by Domingo de Etxaniz 1649 and after nearly 400 years of Extaniz at the helm it is still run by the Txueka-Etxaniz family. The vineyards and winery in the beautiful seafaring town of Geteria on the northern Spanish coast overlook the Bay of Bisayne from the edge of cliffs in Spain’s famous Basque country. The Etxaniz’ are largely responsible for creating the Geteria Txacolina apellation of Spain and in conserving the Hondarrabi grape variety used in this special wine.
