Description
From a terrific site in the Santa Lucia Highlands that doesn’t get the recognition it deserves, the Talbott Chardonnay Sleepy Hollow Vineyard sports a light gold color to go with a terrific bouquet of stone fruits, apple blossom, hints of minerality and white flowers. Medium-bodied, clean, crystalline and elegant on the palate, with a great finish, it’s a wine that grows on you with time in the glass and I suspect will age nicely for at least 6-7 years.
“Like all of our wines, our Talbott Chardonnay Sleepy Hollow Vineyard is made exclusively from estate-grown grapes. Two-thirds of the grapes for this wine are sourced from select old Wente clone fruit planted in 1972 that provide amazing depth and fullness. This wine displays all of the concentrated layers of tropical fruit, citrus, and minerals that have made our Sleepy Hollow Vineyard famous. The vineyard is situated on 585 prime acres of benchland in the Santa Lucia Highlands, 13 miles south of Monterey CA. This wine has come to define Talbott style with power, richness, integrated oak and bright, cool-climate acidity.” Winery
