“Coming more from the southern end of the appellation (it’s mostly Pisoni and Sierra Mar), the 2013 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands has come on like gangbusters since I tasted it from barrel last year. It gives up lots of blackberry and darker styled fruits, mint, cloves, crushed rock and underbrush to go with a medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated, fruit-loaded style on the palate. Possessing beautiful fruit and no hard edges, it represents a killer value in Pinot Noir and should drink nicely for 4-5 years.” —Jeb Dunnuck

90 points – International Wine Cellar, July 2014
“The 2013 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands is unusually juicy this year owing to the significant presence of Pisoni fruit in the blend. Dark red stone fruits, blackberries, menthol, tobacco, grilled herbs and game inform a dark, resonant Pinot with tons of near-term appeal.” —Antonio Galloni

90 points – Wine Enthusiast, July 2015
“Deep purple fruits, black sage, big cherry and woody spices arise from this wine by Adam Lee, who recently sold to Jackson Family Wines but will remain in charge. The palate shows crushed clove and allspice, licorice, graphite and more dark fruit flavors.” —Matt Kettmann
