91 rating James Suckling for 2021 vintage
“Aromas of strawberry, orange peel, saffron, currants and red licorice.Fresh and juicy red fruits on the palate with a medium body and crunch acidity. Vibrant… drink now.”
This is Rich. I always look for value, especially Pinot. It is hard to make good cheap Pinot. Yields have to be kept low and the grape is delicate to work with, if you want juice with some body and complexity it usually costs you. Anyway, Ransom is a great producer and their entry level wine, while not in the league of vineyard designated bottlings really shows lots of character. Rich berry fruit with some funk and dirt in the background to keep you coming back for another taste.
