“The only one of the Mollydooker wines that even hints at needing some bottle age is the 2016 Velvet Glove Shiraz. Hints of hay or alfalfa mark the nose, along with huge raspberry and blueberry fruit. It’s full-bodied, rich and tannic on the palate, picking up hints of chocolate and raisin on the long finish. I wouldn’t suggest cellaring it too long, in case the dried-fruit notes come too much to the fore.” September/2018

Floral white pepper notes announce the juicy core of black tea, plum and tangy cherry flavors, with toasty shadings of spice and cedar that linger on the finish. Shows plenty of harmony and detail against velvety tannins. The density and power sneak up on the finish. Drink now through 2027. 899 cases made. –MW
From the Winery: Our ultimate expression of Fruit Weight™. With the depth of licorice, & a cherry like intensity; the fine lattice of tannins are seamless amongst the fruit, yet still provide that opulent mouthfeel that Velvet Glove is consistently notorious for. A wine of pure indulgence.
