Lucie Dutron Macon Villages Chardonnay French White 750 ml

About Domaine Creusserome: Lucie, with her husband Stephane have been making their own wine since 2007. In fact Lucie’s family has been making wine since at least 1835 when they established Chateau Vitallis where Lucie’s brother is now in charge of winemaking. They practice sustainable agriculture and care for 24 hectare in the towns of Clessé, Viré, Péronne and Verzé.

About the Maconnais region and Macon-Villages:  This area is in the southern end of Burgundy below Beaune and above Lyon. It is a bit warmer than further north in the Cotes d’Or and the wines tend to be riper, rounder and friendly. It is widely known for white wines. Some well known appellations are Saint Veran, Pouilly Fuisse and Macon-Village. The better Macon villages hyphenate their village name to “Macon” (Macon-Verze, Macon-Clesse, Macon-Peronne…). In this case the sites which Lucie sources from are too small to bottle the production under the name of one of these villages, so they blend them and you get to taste them all!

About the wine:
Vine age 20-45 years, soil clay and limestone, sites in Vire, Peronne and Verze

Tasting notes from the importer: “…Rich with good intensity, round and supple on the palate with good minerality and a long finish”

Pairings: As an aperitif, with shellfish, chicken or goat cheese
