Description
Tasting Notes: 8 1/2 on a 10 point scale–Michael Jackson, Whiskeymag.com Nose: Deceptive. Seems restrained, but at close quarters is quite powerful. Nutty, with a splash of lemony sourness. Palate: Big, firm. Hard toffee. Burnt, peat-smoke, notes. Finish: Spicy. Ginger snaps. Shortbread. Long, lingering. Comment: Confident. Straightforward. A first-class whisky. Well-rounded. No-nonsense. 88/100 points—Kevin Chan, nyloveswhisky.com “…This dram is so beautifully concocted – the flavors are perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness that leaves you wanting more. As the sweet notes of sherry, honey and chocolate fill your mouth, the dram remains gentle throughout (meaning it doesn’t burn). I love that this is an independently owned distillery which means they will be free from the chains of conglomerate profit mongering. The 12 year is a great way to get familiar with one of the finest distilleries in Speyside.
