HISTORY AND MEDALLION
A historic wine with deep roots. “Malleolus” has meant a before and after in the Ribera del Duero denomination of origin, disassociating itself from the classification of wines by time in barrel to begin to value it by its vintage. “Malleolus”, hawthorn in Latin, the way they call the vineyards in Pesquera de Duero, is an elegant wine with a great personality and a perfect balance between maturity and freshness.
Emilio Moro labels stand out for their image of a medallion that tells the story of the family from its beginnings. In Malleolus we see a photo of Emilio Moro during the production process in the family winery (1972).
2019, excellent vintage.
The 2019 vegetative cycle was preceded by the rains of April, however, from mid-spring to the end of summer, the year was characterized by little rain and temperatures above expectations. The start of the harvest began after a few days of rain, which helped to balance the composition of the grapes and resulted in a year of extraordinary quality and optimal health.
Power, character and structure.
This Tempranillo wine comes from a selection of the oldest vineyards in the winery: hawthorns between 25 and 75 years old that preserve all their essence and that were rescued by the Moro family from the massive uprooting that occurred in Pesquera del Duero last century. This gives this Ribera del Duero wine exceptional power and character.
A reference wine
In its visual phase it is presented with a very covered cherry red color, on the nose this Tempranillo wine perfectly represents the typical concentration of the 2018 vintage: an intense, mature aroma, endowed with good intensity and great personality. In the mouth it is broad and fleshy with polished tannins and a long and persistent aftertaste, resulting in a benchmark Ribera del Duero wine.
Its silkiness and elegance on the palate allow this Malleolus 2019 to pair with any roast or stew, making it one of the Ribera del Duero wines recommended by the public and by critics.
Serve between 14 and 16ºC.
Place our Malleolus bottles horizontally so that the wine and the cork are in permanent contact, always keep them at a constant temperature and avoid exposure to direct light.
