Description

Wine Spectator 91 points – TOP 100 VALUES – A tightly knit white, with a racy backbone of acidity and an aromatic overtone of fresh chive blossom accenting the mouthwatering range of apricot, Meyer lemon peel, pineapple and chalk flavors. Drink now through 2024. 2,000 cases made, 600 cases imported.

Wine Advocate 89 points – The Donnachiara 2018 Fiano di Avellino is a fresh and vibrant expression to drink within the next 18 months. The wine is executed in an easy and fresh style that prizes aromas of citrus, white peach and summer grass. The wine is tonic and tight with nervous inner tension and energy. Pair it with light salmon or sea bream. Some 30,000 bottles were made.

The Petitto family is on a roll, gaining a lot of positive attention for the consistency and friendly appeal of its territory-driven wines. Donnachiara farms 27 hectares of vines and has recently signed on with Riccardo Cotarella as consulting enologist. – Stephan Reinhardt Wine Advocate
