Domaine Lafage Miraflors Cotes du Roussillon French Rose Wine 750 mL

$17.99

Named after an old estate located in the heart of Domaine Lafage, Mas Miraflors, the Miraflors Rose is sourced from old vines of Grenache Gris, nearing 80 years old, planted near the Mediterranean. Added to this is some Mourvedre that Jean-Marc planted here about 15 years ago. This a direct press rose with the color coming from the skins of the pink Grenache Gris berries, and naturally, from the much darker Mourvedre. It is aged in tank for 4 months before bottling.

Pale rose, iodine, spicy, mineral nose. Ample minerality as well as a medium-bodied, racy profile on the palate.

Apellation: IGP Côtes Catalanes.
Varieties: 50% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache Gris, 20% Grenache noir.
Yield: 50 hl / ha.
Average age of the vines: 25 years old.

Description

90 rating Wine Advocate
“The IGP Cotes Catalanes Miraflors Rose is a blend of 50% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache Gris and 20% Grenache Noir. Light to medium pink and copper-tinged in the glass, it offers up scents of melon and peach, with hints of strawberry as well. Medium-bodied, it’s round and silky in the mouth, showing ample concentration and length on the citrus-tinged finish. With its relatively high proportion of Mourvèdre.” Joe Czerwinski
