Description
“Since 2002 the estate has been producing “I Bastioni”. It is a Chianti Classico DOCG made with the grapes harvested from 7 hectares (17 acres) of vineyard located in the adjacent town of San Casciano, grown with a south/south-western exposure, on rocky, well drained soils.
I Bastioni combines the elegance and pleasantness of Sangiovese, its main grape varietal, with the roundness and power that small amount of Merlot give to the wine.
Made with wine making techniques similar to Collazzi, I Bastioni has a convincingly unique personality: juicy, ripe tannins give complexity and character to this wine, matured in small oak casks for over 12 months.” – The Winery
