Chateau La Fleur de Gay Pomerol 2015/2016 French Red Bordeaux Wine
$149.99
92 Points – Wine Advocate. February 2009 "With Alain Raynaud taking more of an interest in this estate, which is actually run by his sister, it will be interesting to see if they can push the quality of this fabulous terroir to the level of some of the great estates on the plateau of Pomerol, such as Petrus, Vieux-Chateau-Certan, and Lafleur. Certainly the 2006 is an outstanding wine. This 100% Merlot boasts a deep, saturated ruby/purple color followed by sweet raspberry and blueberry notes interwoven with hints of truffles and charcoal. The wine possesses a full-bodied, luscious texture, admirable purity, and impressive length. It should be drinkable in 2-3 years, and evolve for 15+." -Robert Parker 91 Points – International Wine Cellar, May/Jun 2009 "Deep red-ruby. Dark raspberry, coffee and licorice complemented by sexy oak tones and showing good floral lift. Suave, broad and pliant; in a distinctly airy style with a subtle insinuating sweetness to the currant, coffee and licorice flavors. An herbal element adds lift and definition. This smooth, long, all-merlot cuvee has filled out nicely since I first tasted it from the barrel." -Stephen Tanzer
