Description
Amazing and elegant aged in used French oak about 11 months and with a sane 13.5% alcohol content this is an example of the velvet glove over the iron gauntlet. It has a creamy texture but no flab. The nose show pear, baked apple and baking spice with some stone fruits. the palate follows suit with a length finish and lot of lift. Really lovely.
“A barrel sample, the 2017 Chardonnay Jos. Belli Vineyards has lovely yeasty/toasty scents over a core of white peaches, lemon tart, pineapple and lime leaves with orange blossoms and fresh ginger in the background. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers plenty of rich, ripe stone fruit and tropical scents with a pleasantly oily texture and great length.”

Our Chardonnay is grown by Joseph Belli, a close friend and longtime business associate of Richard’s. Joe has planted his grapes next to his home, a few miles south of Healdsburg on the western end of the Russian River Valley. The vineyard is set just past the edge of the valley floor, where the land starts to lift-up into rolling hills. These steep, terraced hillsides provide excellent drainage for the vines, reducing the water available to the roots, which in turn produces tiny berries with intense flavor.- The Winery
