Friday Flash Tasting Sept 13, 2019 Fun things to do with aged Rums

I’m focusing on the fun aspect of tonight’s tasting – playing with cocktails! We think of Rum as a tropical drink for the summer and rum cocktails as those fruit bombs with umbrellas. Well try a twist on a classic cocktail for some fun after summer. The beauty of the aged rum shines and it gives you a new way to enjoy an old friend!

Rum (or Bourbon) Old Fashioned both Rums are good for this one 2 oz. Aged rum  1/2oz  simple syrup  2 dashes of orange bitters Orange peel

Directions: Add syrup and bitters to Old Fashioned  glass. Add the rum and stir. Drop a chunk of ice into the glass, rub the orange peel across the rim and leave in the glass as a garnish.
