Provolo Cruina Rosso Veronese

As the back label says this wine is made of 100% Corvina, which is the better grape variety in Valpolicella, and made by the “ripasso” method which is the practice of aging the wine in used Amarone barrels. Amarone is the “Big Ass” wine of Valpolicella, it is Valpolicella on steroids so the extraction of that wine is imparted to this wine. The result is a heavier valpolicella with a lot of structure and complexity. No Bolla here! You will pick up deep berry fruit with hints of mineral, meat and coffee, it is very old style with more dimensions than you find in most modern wines which often taste only of fruit and new oak. Enjoy with a nice piece of grilled beef or lamb.
