Paumanok Festival Red 2005
The Festival Red is 66% Cabernet Franc, and 34% Merlot. Aged 14 months in French oak barrels, this modestly priced red shows great grip and promises longevity. It has a generous nose of black fruit balanced by spice, and the tannins coat the mouth nicely. For drinking in the near future let the wine breath for an hour or two. This wine is actually a good candidate for a few years in the cellar. Think of it as the poor man's Assemblage.
