"The 2002 Merlot Estate gushes with sweet, fresh black cherry fruit, tinged with orange rind and brown spices, generous in both aroma and flavor. The mouth feel is medium-bodied, juicy but with a hint of creaminess. Several days of cold soak before and as many as ten days’ post fermentative skin contact are part of the approach that preserves fresh fruit and creams up the tannins of Jamesport's Merlots. This excellent value wine will embarrass most of the Merlots in the marketplace, both for price and quality. This is a winery to watch!" -David Schildknecht
