Gagliole 2005 EXTREMELY LIMITED, PLEASE INQUIRE  Wine Spectator, October 2007
96 Points!
“Dark in color, showing fabulous aromas of crushed blackberry and raspberry, with a hint of honeysuckle. Full-bodied, with layers of polished, velvety tannins and bright acidity and fruit. Very long and concentrated, yet refined and caressing. Superb. The best wine to date from this producer. Best after 2010.” -James Suckling

Other Information : Gagliole is one of the most ancient properties in the whole Chianti region, with documents dating back to 994AD. The property was purchased by the Swiss banker Thomas Baer and his wife Monika, a noted art gallery manager, who decided to settle there. Captivated by the sheer beauty of those hills, they developed a true love for that land and a passion for good wine. The ancient terraced vineyard with its perfect combination of soil make Gagliole the perfect to place to grow sangiovese. Gagliole is a small property, and almost everything is done by hand, using techniques of sustainable farming. The wine making is entrusted to the world-famous Stefano Chioccioli who in recent years has transformed the rather rustic wines into polished, highly rated, spectacular wines.
