"Deep red. Mineral and tobacco accents interplay with ripe red cherry fruit. Well-balanced on the palate, with flavors of smoked plum and black cherry. Some noble rusticity and an element of minerality come through on the finish. The archetype of a good Taurasi, at first harder to appreciate than some of the softer, prettier, obviously fruity wines made in this area, but truer to the terrior."
