Raymond Generations Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Red Napa California Wine 750 mL
Raymond Generations Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Red Napa California Wine 750 mL

Rated 95 points Wine Advocate October 2015

"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Generations is a wine that comes from both St. Helena and Oakville and is 99% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the balance Petit Verdot. This beauty showcases how much Jean Charles Boisset has improved the quality of the Raymond wines. There are 2,112 cases of this wine, which has an inky purple color and a beautiful nose of licorice, toasty oak, blackberry, cassis, spice box and forest floor. The wine has great intensity, a full-bodied mouthfeel, terrific balance, and well-integrated acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood. It should drink well for 25-30+ years." - Robert M. Parker Jr.

One of the iconic wineries of Napa, Raymond Vineyards has been resurrected from its moribund state by the charismatic Burgundian transplant, Jean-Charles Boisset. One of the more exuberant and dramatic personalities of the wine world, his vision for quality and pursuit of it can often get lost in his gregarious, almost excessively contagious enthusiasm. This is the strongest lineup yet from Raymond Vineyards, with Boisset creating his own version of single-sector wines from different microclimates within Napa Valley, all of them outstanding. One of Boisset’s achievements, in addition to quality, is that all of their vineyards are now farmed organically or biodynamically.Tel. (707) 963-3141; www.raymondvineyards.com

Osprey's Dominion Gewurztraminer 2012 North Fork of Long Island White Wine
Osprey's Dominion Gewurztraminer 2012 North Fork of Long Island White Wine
Rated 86 Points from The Wine Advocate, June 2015
"The 2012 Gew├╝rztraminer is unoaked and dry. It comes in at 12% alcohol. Given the price point, this is a nice deal. Granted that there is not a lot of concentration here or much intensity, it has plenty of Gewurz character, those classic, lychee nuances. Fresh, dry and a bit spicy, it drinks great right now. There is no point to holding it, however long it theoretically lasts. There were 158 cases produced.

Osprey's Dominion is a partnership with Bud Koehler as the managing partner. The winemaker here since 2001 is Adam Suprenant who also makes wine for his own label (the relatively new Coffee Pot Cellars). Osprey, however, is anything but new. Its first vines were planted in 1983, although production did not begin until the 1990s.

Many of the selection here could use more mid-palate concentration, but considering their typically good price points, they were mostly good values that offered some bang for the buck." - Robert Parker
