"The 2007 Vermentino di Sardegna La Cala is classic Vermentino, with its soaring, perfumed aromatics, and crisp, clean fruit. A refreshing white, it is best enjoyed over the next year. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2009. Sella e Mosca’s history goes back all the way to the 19th century. Even though the estate produces a large quantity of wine, quality is quite high. These entry-level wines offer a lot of varietal character, and best of all, they won’t break the bank." -Antonio Galloni

"The 2008 Spezieri is a delicious, harmonious red from Col d’Orcia, one of Montalcino’s top producers. A blend of 40% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot, 20% Ciliegiolo and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine offers excellent definition and a long, polished close.
