Cantina Novelli Pecorino Umbria 2013 Italian White Wine
Cantina Novelli Pecorino Umbria 2013 Italian White Wine
Explosive aromas of yellow flower, peach and exotic fruit. Beautiful and powerful expression of Pecorino, rich and decadent for a dry white from Italy. Perfect harmony and balance.

"The Pecorino, a native variety grown for centuries in the Valnerina area, was rediscovered and restored to quality production by Cantina Novelli. Our agronomists located ancient vines of Pecorino at an altitude of 1100 metres above sea level.
The vines are century old, ungrafted, grown on rows with maple trees according to the customs of mixed agriculture of one time and are at very high altitudes. These conditions give the variety a value wich goes far beyond its organoleptic qualities, producing a wine unique characteristics." -The Winery

Domaine Grand Veneur Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee les Origines 2012 French Red Rhone Wine 750 mL
Domaine Grand Veneur Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee les Origines 2012 French Red Rhone Wine 750 mL

eRobertParker.com 93 points

- The 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Origines (45% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 20% Mourvedre) is a polished, medium to full-bodied effort that has superb concentration, lots of tannin, and a ripe, textured feel. Showing plenty of black raspberry, toasted spice, creamy licorice and hints of violets, it’s a classic example of this cuvee that will benefit from a year or two in the cellar, and have no problem evolving gracefully through 2027. .Jeb Dunnuck, October/2014

Domaine Grand Veneur Cotes du Rhone Blanc de Viognier 2013 French White Wine 750mL
Domaine Grand Veneur Cotes du Rhone Blanc de Viognier 2013 French White Wine 750mL

89 Points Wine Advocate October 2014 "Their straight Viognier, the 2013 Côtes du Rhône Blanc de Viognier shows the variety nicely with its tangerine, lime and citrus aromatics. More fresh and focused than rich and textured, it has medium-bodied depth, integrated acidity and a fruity, delicious style." "This estate, under the leadership of Sebastien and Christophe Jaume, continues to be one of the reference point producers for relatively modern styled Châteauneuf du Papes. In addition to their top tier efforts, the portfolio is loaded with smoking values at just about every price point. I’ve listed domaine wines under Domaine Grand Veneur, and the negociant wines under Alain Jaume, which I believe might also include some vineyards owned by the Jaume family as well. Regardless, the quality here is superb across the range. In addition, they’ve excelled in both 2012 and 2013." - Jeb Dunnuck

Misfits Wine Company Cycle Buff Beauty Australian Red Wine 750mL
Misfits Wine Company Cycle Buff Beauty Australian Red Wine 750mL

Previous vintage [2013] rated 90 points from Vinous Media, March 2016:

"Inky ruby. Ripe cherry, musky herbs, candied flowers and woodsmoke on the fragrant nose. Juicy and supple in the mouth, offering concentrated dark fruit and cola flavors that are lifted and sharpened by a peppery nuance. Closes with very good clarity, smooth tannins and a refreshing touch of bitterness. Nicely structured and taut for an Australian red wine at this price point. Drink: 2018-2022." - Josh Raynolds

From the Importer: "It's back! We have sold out every vintage of this stunner and the latest version, 90% Shiraz and 10% Malbec from 22 year old vines, does not disappoint. Classic blend…hah. Really nothing classic about the blend. Only in modern day Australia does a Rhône varietal and a Bordeaux varietal join to make delicious wine with a label featuring scantily clad beauties running away from a crazed biker gang. Malbec and Shiraz is just the beginning of the madness."
