Plantation Grande Reserve 5 Year Old Rum Barbados
Plantation Grande Reserve 5 Year Old Rum Barbados

"A very fine blend of Barbados rums, aged for five years in bourbon casks in the Caribbean then refined in old French oak casks at Chateau de Bonbonnet. Its succulent nose, typical of the Barbados style, reveals notes of toasted coconut, fudge and oaky vanilla. Plantation Grande Reserve 5 Year Old can be enjoyed straight, on ice or in cocktails." -The Distillery 90-95 Points - Wine Enthusiast, March 2004 "Scents include brown sugar, molasses, vanilla bean, ripe tropical fruit, marzipan, refined sugar and honey. Taste features intriguing, bittersweet tastes of black pepper, molasses, dark chocolate and palm oil. Finish is long, bittersweet and woody."

Pride Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 Red California Wine
Pride Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 Red California Wine
93+ Points - Wine Advocate, December 2012
"The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is brighter, fresher and more vibrant than the 2009. Black cherries, mocha, violets, licorice and graphite all jump from the glass. The 2010 is quite typical of the vintage in its verve, cut, focus and minerality. This is a terrific showing. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030." -Antonio Galloni

Pride Mountain Merlot 2012 California Red Wine 750mL
Pride Mountain Merlot 2012 California Red Wine 750mL

Rated 90 Points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate; eRobertParker.com, #215 October, 2014

"The outstanding 2012 Merlot is composed of 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 18 months in 40% new French oak. There are 5,350 cases. It exhibits a classic Merlot bouquet of coffee beans, white chocolate, mocha, black cherries and plums. This lush, heady, sexy, medium to full-bodied Merlot can be consumed over the next 7-8 years.

The current releases of Pride Mountain Vineyards have their regions of origin noted as Napa/Sonoma since their vineyards sit on both sides of the two counties. I tasted with Pride on August 24, which was the Sunday morning when the 6.0-force earthquake hit Napa. Needless to say, we were all shaken, but generally not stirred. Most of the current releases, especially the big reds, are from the 2011 vintage, and Pride Mountain produced some of the finest wines of that excessively maligned year. The current releases of Pride’s big, red wines are 2011s. Stephen Pride told me that their vineyards were not affected by the late October rains, but it was the coldest vintage in their history."

Pyrat XO Reserve Rum Guyana 750 mL
Pyrat XO Reserve Rum Guyana 750 mL

"Pyrat XO Reserve is a complex yet mellow blend of select Caribbean rums, aged up to 15 years in French Limousin and American sweet oak barrels. Its handcrafted decanter is fashioned after relic rum bottles once hoarded by pirates and ship captains in the 1800's. In tribute to the true Pyrat spirit of social enlightenment, each bottle is adorned witht the image of Hoti, patron saint and protector of fortune-tellers and bartenders." -The Distillery

Romano Dal Forno Amarone della Valpolicella 2008 Italian Red Wine 750 mL
Romano Dal Forno Amarone della Valpolicella 2008 Italian Red Wine 750 mL

95 Wine Advocate #209 Oct 2013 Monica Larner  Drink: 2017 - 2035

To be released in early 2014, the 2008 Amarone della Valpolicella (with fruit sourced from the high density Monte Lodoletta vineyard) opens with immense darkness and the kind of midnight impenetrability you never see on any color wheel for fine wine. Its off the charts appearance is followed by similarly unique aromatic intensity and versatility that spans from blackberry syrup and candied prune to chewing tobacco, black peppercorn and rain-soaked asphalt. This is but a baby that will require loads of time in your cellar before it enters its prime drinking window. Because Dal Forno did not make Amarone in 2007, the wait will seem that much longer. Having said that, this wine is very different from the 2006 Amarone despite the fact 2006 and 2008 were relatively similar cool vintages overall. I distinctly remember the impossible tightness and astringency of the tannins in 2006 when tasted at the same young stage in the wine’s life. The 2008 Amarone, on the other hand, is much softer and a tad more approachable in contrast. Ultimately, this wine promises a graceful, steady and long evolution. Drink: 2017-2035. " Monica Larner

Romano Dal Forno Amarone della Valpolicellla Monte Lodoletta 2009 Italian Red Wine 750 mL
Romano Dal Forno Amarone della Valpolicellla Monte Lodoletta 2009 Italian Red Wine 750 mL

97 Wine Advocate #216 Dec 2014  Monica Larner Drink: 2018 - 2040

"I'm not sure how anyone can resist a wine like the 2009 Amarone della Valpolicellla Monte Lodoletta. It would be impossible to exaggerate the enormity of this wine. Romano Dal Forno has his critics, of course: Some people find his wines exaggerated and too big to drink. They have a point, but you can not doubt the sheer quality of winemaking that goes behind this monumental wine. Dal Forno's Amarone is a message of optimism that speaks to the infinite possibilities that can be achieved with a simple fruit like the grape. The decadent and layered bouquet offers slow pulses of black fruit, tar, teriyaki, mesquite and prune. The wine wraps like a thick blanket over the palate. This beautiful bottle should be aged ten more years. The wines of Romano Dal Forno prove to be, once again, impossible to duplicate. They show such a high degree of individual personality that they occupy their own school of stylistic expression. In fact, they share very little, if anything, with the rest of vino italiano." - Monica Larner

Santa Margherita Prosecco Italian Sparkling White Wine
Santa Margherita Prosecco Italian Sparkling White Wine

In 1961, the Santa Margherita oenologist had what proved to be a brilliant idea. He decided to try the white vinification technique used for the production of French Champagne on the best Pinot Grigio grapes from Trentino-Alto Adige. This dry white wine is pale straw-yellow in color. The clean, intense aroma and dry flavour with pleasant golden apple aftertaste make Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio a wine of great character and versatility.

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis 2014 California Napa Red Wine 750 mL
Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis 2014 California Napa Red Wine 750 mL
Rated 92 points from Vinous Media; December, 2016:

"The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis is a tasty entry-level offering from Stag's Leap Wine Cellars. Deep, rich and resonant, but very much medium in body, the 2014 offers lovely resonance throughout. Sweet red cherry, plum, spice and mocha give the 2014 its plump, juicy personality. Drink: 2017-2029." - Antonio Galloni

Rated 90 points from The Wine Advocate; December 30th, 2016:

"The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Artemis is a blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Malbec. Among the top wines, it’s the least expensive red in the Stag’s Leap portfolio. An elegant style of wine, with notes of cedar wood, black and red currants and spice box, this medium-bodied, delicious, complex and elegant wine could easily pass for a second- or third-growth Bordeaux in a blind tasting. It should drink nicely for another 10-15 years. Drink: 2016-2031." - Robert M. Parker Jr.
