Blackish plum in color. Nose redolent of ripe blackcurrant and plumy fruit. Toasty oak aromas and sweet fruit flavors are balanced by soft, ripe tannins. Good structure with soft, clean finish. Try it with beef burritos, pizza, pastas, roast or barbecue chicken, red meats.

Fairview Sauvignon Blanc is a harmonious blend of grapes from different areas within the Coastal Region. Gnarled 40 year old unirrigated bush vines form a base of this wine, and drive its rich expressive style. My wine making team have taken great care in capturing the essence of the region, producing a Sauvignon Blanc with clean gooseberry, green pepper and fig aromas and a rich palate. A dish of ocean fresh fish, grilled chicken or a warm (preferably Fairview) goats' cheese salad would be amongst the many perfect dishes for this wine.

From the winemaker: "One afternoon, at harvest time, my mischievous son Jason and his friend Justin let the goats out of thier tower and sent them for a walkabout amongst the vines. As in the legend of the Yemeni goat herder, whose roaming flock first discovered the joys of coffee beands, our goats picked out the best and tastiest fruit. Their choice which includes Pinotage, Shiraz, Cinsault, Grenache and Carignan, serves as our inspiration for this wine. The grapes were harvested from vineyards in the Paarl, Pedeberg and Malmesbury regions. The grapes are mostly sourced from dry farmed old bush vines. These are mostly vineyards with small cropping levels resulting in wine with considerable concentration."

"Specially selected Pinotage grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness. They were crushed and the juice was then fermented on the skins until dry. Malolactic fermentation took place, and the wine was then matured in 300 liter oak barrels for 12 months before being blended and bottled. This wine is medium bodied and full of ripe plum and raspberry fruit aromas and flavours. Enjoy this wine on its own or with or with red meat, chicken, pasta and tomato based dishes." -The Winery

"Specially selected Chenin blanc grapes were crushed and fermented with selected yeasts till dry. T he wine was left on the primary lees for 6 weeks, before being racked, blended, filtered and bottled. This off dry white wine is full of tropical fruit aromas and flavours.
