Warre's 1670 Warrior Porto
Warre's 1670 Warrior Porto

"Warrior is the oldest mark of Port in the world, having been shipped continuously since the 1750's. The name Warrior was branded on the casks of Warre's finest Reserve Ports since the earliest days of the firm. The traditional style has been maintained over the years and it is today a classic full-bodied wine with wonderful richness and balance. "Warrior is drawn from Warre's finest quintas in the Pinhao and Rio Torto valleys that produce Warre's Vintage Ports. The firm's head winemaker, Peter Symington, will select vats of particularly rich and fruity Port to set aside for maturing in oak casks in the lodges at Vila Nova de Gaia." -The Winery

Cockburn's Late Bottled Vintage Port
Cockburn's Late Bottled Vintage Port

Cockburn's Anno is a Late Bottled Vintage port (or LBV), a style of port that is made entirely of wines harvested in a single year, from multiple vineyard properties. The vintage may or may not have been "declared" by the port house. While true Vintage Ports are aged in cask for two years, LBVs are aged four to six years in cask before bottling. Therefore, they are more mature and fully developed when bottled, with well-rounded flavors and a smoother finish. No further bottle aging is required. Additionally, LBVs are lightly filtered before bottling, eliminating the need to decant the wine.LBV ports are created in the style of classic Vintage Port, maintaining the vibrant fruit and rich tannins of the noble Portuguese grape varieties, but have a softer, smoother taste and are ready to enjoy at a much earlier date.

Cockburn's Tawny 10yr Port 500mL
Cockburn's Tawny 10yr Port 500mL
10 Years Old Tawny is a light, medium tawny-colored wine. The aroma is clean, showing a good balance of sweetness and acidity mingled with a soft nuttiness permeating through the rich complexity of wood-aged wine. It is round and delicate on the palate, yet crisp and lively with a soft, mellow background and a good long aftertaste. The crispness and "grip" that are the hallmark of Cockburn's tawnies come from the judicious blending and the continuous refreshing of these wood-aged wines. The Cockburn's style is less sweet than most other tawnies, which gives it a firmness on the palate and helps to avoid the cloying effect of many aged wines.

Grahams Late Bottled Vintage Port 2011 Red Portugese Dessert Wine 750 mL
Grahams Late Bottled Vintage Port 2011 Red Portugese Dessert Wine 750 mL
Like Vintage Port, LBV is a wine of a single year but it is not a 'declared' Vintage Port. Whereas Vintage Port spends only two years in casks and then matures in bottle, LBV is aged solely in cask and then bottled at between four and six years old. At the time of bottling it has completed its maturation and is ready for drinking without the need for decanting. Graham's LBV has much of the rich full fruity flavour and 'grip' of Vintage Port, combining this with a softness gained through oak ageing.
