Fonseca Porto Vintage Port 1992 375 mL Portuguese dessert wine
Fonseca Porto Vintage Port 1992 375 mL Portuguese dessert wine

Wine Advocate # 97 (Feb 1995) Rating: 97 points Drink 1995 - 2035 "Fonseca has scored in both the 1991 and 1992 vintages. The 1992 is a majestic young port that should ultimately rival, perhaps even surpass this house's most recent great efforts (1985, 1977, 1970, 1963). This colossal vintage port reveals a nearly opaque black/purple color, and an explosive nose of jammy black fruits, licorice, chocolate, and spices. Extremely full-bodied and unctuously-textured, this multi-layered, enormously-endowed port reveals a finish that lasts for over a minute. It is a magnificent port that will age well for 30-40 years." -Robert Parker

Graham's Ten Years Old Tawny is a wonderfully soft, rounded wine following its long ageing in oak casks. This softness is balanced by a rich, subtle, mature fruit.

Grahams Late Bottled Vintage Port 2011 Red Portugese Dessert Wine 750 mL
Grahams Late Bottled Vintage Port 2011 Red Portugese Dessert Wine 750 mL
Like Vintage Port, LBV is a wine of a single year but it is not a 'declared' Vintage Port. Whereas Vintage Port spends only two years in casks and then matures in bottle, LBV is aged solely in cask and then bottled at between four and six years old. At the time of bottling it has completed its maturation and is ready for drinking without the need for decanting. Graham's LBV has much of the rich full fruity flavour and 'grip' of Vintage Port, combining this with a softness gained through oak ageing.

94 Points - Wine Advocate, February 1995
"Graham's 1991 Vintage Port gets my nod as the port of the vintage. While keeping in mind that Graham's aims for a sweeter-styled port, there is no doubting the opaque purple/black color, or the explosive nose of black fruits, licorice, spring flowers, and tar. Thick and full-bodied, with a satiny texture and a blockbuster, alcoholic finish, this is a top-notch vintage port." -Robert Parker

Quinta do Noval Vintage Port 2007
Quinta do Noval Vintage Port 2007
94 Points - Wine Advocate, February 2010
"The 2007 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port is a star of the vintage. Dense purple-colored, it gives up an already complex aromatic array of lavender, Asian spices, incense, and an amalgam of black fruits with a hint of chocolate in the background. Plush and mouth-filling, this large-scaled Port manages an uncanny blending of elegance and power. Long and savory in the finish, it will continue to blossom for another 20+ years and drink well through its 50th birthday if not longer." -Jay Miller

93 Points - Wine Spectator, May 2010
"Very complex, with intense aromas of squeezed tangerine, blackberry and blueberry. Full-bodied, medium sweet and chewy. Extracted yet balanced, with an intense fruity and grapey character. Tight and reserved on the finish. Best after 2015. 1,800 cases made." -James Suckling

Quinta do Noval Vintage Port 2011 Portuguese Dessert Wine

94-96 Points - Wine Advocate, June 2013

"The 2011 Quinta do Noval has wonderful precision on the nose with blackberry, cassis, intriguing flinty notes and a whiff of smoke. It might not possess the power of the Nacional but it has freshness to spare. That comes through on the beautifully composed palate, which is underpinned by fine tannins that lend it a silky smooth mouthfeel. There is real intensity here, but it is very controlled with superb minerality on the finish. Excellent. Tasted May 2013." -Neal Martin

96 Points - Wine Enthusiast, November 2013

"A powerful, concentrated wine, full of dark tannins, ripe fruit and rich texture. This is a wine based on a solid structure firm in character while still allowing the gorgeous fruits to express themselves. It's obviously destined for long-term aging." -Roger Voss
