Churchill's Port Late Bottled Vintage 2002
"Late Bottled means bottled after 4, rather than 2 years in wood. Our LBV is a rich, concentrated port from one good harvest, which has been aged for 4 years in wood. The word 'traditional' means that it is bottled without any filtration or refrigeration so that the wine can continue developing in the bottle before it is released for sale, two years later. At the end of the bottle ageing period, it is ready for immediate drinking. or alternatively, and this is purely optional, it can be cellared for a few more years to acquire one of the more pronounced characteristics of Vintage Port, which is a 'bottle nose' - at which stage it may have formed a sediment and require to be decanted." -The Winery

Rating for previous vintage:

87 Points - Wine Enthusiast, March, 2003
"Churchill Graham is the youngest of the Port shippers, established in 1981. The Churchill LBV is a traditional, unfiltered wine, which can age well. This wine has richness and sweetness tempered with a layer of dry tannins and concentration." -R.V.

Warre's Late Bottled Vintage Port 2000
Carefully selected from the finest wines of a very good year, this port is aged in oak casks for 4 years before being bottled without fining or filtration. This ensures that, as with Vintage Port, the fruit concentration is retained.

Once bottled, Warre's Traditional Late Bottled Vintage Port is left to mature for a further 5 years in Warre's own cellars before being offered for sale. It is this prolonged ageing in its own bottle that gives this particular LBV so much outstanding style and complexity.

Niepoort Late Bottled Vintage 2007
"Brilliant dark red appearance, with refined aromas of dark plums and blackberries. On the palate the fruit is evident along with a superb soft silky texture all held together with a firm structure and good length on the finish. The wine can be enjoyed now, and will become more complex with further cellaring for a couple of decades. To fully benefit from its qualities we recommend it be decanted before serving. Serve with soft cheeses, mild blue cheese, dark chocolate desserts or even a pepper steak!" -The Winery

Grahams Late Bottled Vintage Port 2007
Like Vintage Port, LBV is a wine of a single year but it is not a 'declared' Vintage Port. Whereas Vintage Port spends only two years in casks and then matures in bottle, LBV is aged solely in cask and then bottled at between four and six years old. At the time of bottling it has completed its maturation and is ready for drinking without the need for decanting. Graham's LBV has much of the rich full fruity flavour and 'grip' of Vintage Port, combining this with a softness gained through oak ageing.

Cockburn's Tawny 10yr 500mL
10 Years Old Tawny is a light, medium tawny-colored wine. The aroma is clean, showing a good balance of sweetness and acidity mingled with a soft nuttiness permeating through the rich complexity of wood-aged wine. It is round and delicate on the palate, yet crisp and lively with a soft, mellow background and a good long aftertaste. The crispness and "grip" that are the hallmark of Cockburn's tawnies come from the judicious blending and the continuous refreshing of these wood-aged wines. The Cockburn's style is less sweet than most other tawnies, which gives it a firmness on the palate and helps to avoid the cloying effect of many aged wines.

Grahams 6 grapes
Six Grapes is one of Graham's original Port blends and is thus one of the Company's oldest marks. It is a very full-bodied, luscious wine drawn from the same vineyards as Graham's Vintage Ports. Blended from two or three years' harvests, the wine is an average of five to six years old when bottled. It follows the Graham's Vintage style very closely, although it has softened more quickly by being matured in oak casks rather than in bottle. Its extremely rich fruity style makes it a truly superb, rare and appealing Port.

Burmester Vintage Port 2007 375mL
These are half-bottles (375mL)!

91 Points - Wine Advocate, February 2012
"The glass-coating 2007 Burmester Vintage Port sports a fragrant perfume of plum, boysenberry, spice box, and licorice. Mouth-filling and layered, it has excellent volume, well-concealed tannin, and impeccable balance. This savory, lengthy wine has the stuffing to evolve for 10-15 years and should drink well through 2032. It is also an excellent value in quality Vintage Port." -Robert Parker

89-92 Points - Wine Spectator, Web Only - 2009
"Blackberry, currant and citrus fruit on the nose. Full-bodied, with a wonderful density of fruit and ultrafine tannins. Builds on your palate. Very good intensity." -James Suckling

Cockburn's Late Bottled Vintage Port
Cockburn's Anno is a Late Bottled Vintage port (or LBV), a style of port that is made entirely of wines harvested in a single year, from multiple vineyard properties. The vintage may or may not have been "declared" by the port house. While true Vintage Ports are aged in cask for two years, LBVs are aged four to six years in cask before bottling. Therefore, they are more mature and fully developed when bottled, with well-rounded flavors and a smoother finish. No further bottle aging is required. Additionally, LBVs are lightly filtered before bottling, eliminating the need to decant the wine.LBV ports are created in the style of classic Vintage Port, maintaining the vibrant fruit and rich tannins of the noble Portuguese grape varieties, but have a softer, smoother taste and are ready to enjoy at a much earlier date.
