"Traminer is one of the noble grape varieties best suited for cultivation in northern latitudes. It is well-known in southern Germany, Alsace and the Austrian Tyrol. Casata Monfort grows Traminer in the township of Pergine, where vineyards at 500 meters a.s.l. enjoy southern exposure and sunlight most of the day. Harvest dates are selected to accentuate the aromatic quality of the fruit, reminiscent of ripe apricots. Enjoy this fragrant white by itself, with appetizers, soups and salads." -Winemaker

"Loads of jammy fruit intermingled with sweet toasted oak, earthiness, spices and chocolate flow from Camigliano's 2003 Brunello di Montalcino. Although this dark, powerful wine offers excellent length, the tannins clamp down on the finish. Another year or so may help, but only to a limited extent. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a venerable Brunello producer. The wine is aged 12 months in barriques and at least 7-8 months in bottles.
