"The Syrah grapes in this wine were harvested from vineyards in 2 growing regions- Jezreel Valley and Ella Valley. The blend of grapes from these vineyards, with their varied climatic and soil conditions is what provides the wine with its gamut of flavors. Twelve months of ageing in French and American oak barrels results in a harmonious, well-balanced and aromatically complex wine." -The Winery

Tabor Adama Storm II Kosher for Passover Israeli Red Wine 750 mL
Tabor Adama Storm II Kosher for Passover Israeli Red Wine 750 mL
Tabor winery is situated in the heart of the fertile Galilee. Our vineyards and winery lay in the foothills of Mt. Tabor. This unique location provides an ideal climate for growing grapes, as well as different soil types. These factors, and our highly skilled and dedicated team, help to make tabor wines special; wines that exhibit the natural grape aromas and flavors. A bottle of Tabor will always enhance your gatherings and special moments.

The 2013 Storm - Adama II is an equal blend of Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 12 months in 50% new French oak. It comes in at 14% alcohol. Elegant and caressing in texture, this doesn't have quite the personality of the Thunder, also reviewed this issue, but it has layers of complexity, with some dried herbs, gravel and cement. Like its sibling, it has moderate tannins in support of the fruit and a lingering finish. There is also an earthy, somewhat cooler feel to this, largely affecting the Cab, I suspect. It gives this a different feel than many ultraripe Israeli wines. In any event, it is a complete pleasure to encounter just now. It should hold nicely for several years at the least.

Tabor offers some value for the money here. It's a nice group. The "suggested" list prices given (from the importer) are reasonable too. Only the upper-level Limited Edition spikes in price—and there are certainly Israeli wineries that might price that higher too.
