Istra Slovenia share the Istrian Peninsula wth neighboring Croatia. It is on the  SW coast of Sloveniia bordering Friuli and Trieste also know for  refosc, as it is called in Italy.

Uros Rojac son of famed winemaker  Bruno Rojac is the present winemaker and focuses on refosk, using  very traditional methods  and state certified organic.

He makes also makes Cabernet Sauvignon,  Syrah and  Malvasia but would like to be the King of Refosk. It is an ancient varity prized by the Romans for it's health benefits. There are records that show that Roman Empress Livija Drussil lived to 86 (very old in those days) owing to her copious consumption of this wine.

Tasting Notes: Inky purple color, unfiltered and a little cloudy. Aromas and flavors recall blackberry, currant, leather, violets and vanilla, with a full texture.
