Dr. H. Thanisch Riesling Kabinett Berncasteler Doctor 2009
90 Points - Wine Spectator, Web Only 2011
"An elegant, linear Riesling, sporting mineral, orange and spice flavors that are fresh and juicy. Finishes with peach and hints of smoke. Drink now through 2024." -Kim Marcus

89+ Points - Wine Advocate, December 2010
"The Thanisch 2009 Bernkasteler Doctor Riesling Kabinett displays a yeasty, cheesy post-fermentative overtone, beneath which however rise scents of musk, decadent floral perfume, and very ripe apple and pineapple. Almost nougat-like richness of nut pastes backed by rather obvious sweetness lends the wine’s creamy palate performance a confectionary aura arguably somewhat at odds with my conception of Kabinett, and there is neither the refreshment nor the delicacy on display here that helped render the corresponding Lay such a success. But this wine needs I think to be taken on its own terms. First, it’s labeled “Kabinett” because it is the least-ripe and rich of a range of ripe, rich wines from that fabled site. Second, it needs a good 8-10 years in bottle to even begin to shed its superficial sweetness, and there is a track record for this wine to project allure for 20 or more years." -David Schildknecht

Dr. Loosen Riesling Dr. L 2011
"The Dr. L Riesling evokes a walk through an orchard in the late summer: luscious pear, peach and apple aromas retain the crisp sweet tart quality of ripening fruit just before harvest. On the palate, the medium-bodied wine is refreshing and juicy, with zippy acidity balancing bright flavors of pear, apricot, mango and lime. The lush attack is followed by a long finish that is simultaneously sweet and tart, dry and mouth-watering." -The Winery
