Fonseca Porto Vintage Port 1992 Portuguese dessert wine 750 mL
Fonseca Porto Vintage Port 1992 Portuguese dessert wine 750 mL

Wine Advocate # 97 (Feb 1995) Rating: 97 points Drink 1995 - 2035 "Fonseca has scored in both the 1991 and 1992 vintages. The 1992 is a majestic young port that should ultimately rival, perhaps even surpass this house's most recent great efforts (1985, 1977, 1970, 1963). This colossal vintage port reveals a nearly opaque black/purple color, and an explosive nose of jammy black fruits, licorice, chocolate, and spices. Extremely full-bodied and unctuously-textured, this multi-layered, enormously-endowed port reveals a finish that lasts for over a minute. It is a magnificent port that will age well for 30-40 years." -Robert Parker

Mollydooker Cabernet Sauvignon Gigglepot Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 Australian Red Wine 750 mL
Mollydooker Cabernet Sauvignon Gigglepot Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 Australian Red Wine 750 mL

93 points Winespectator

"Opulent, with rich dark chocolate notes dripping over ripe plum, black cherry and raspberry flavors. Supple and creamy at the core, featuring plenty of details of vanilla bean, cinnamon and chai tea that create a powerful wave of flavor that lingers on the long, toasty and spicy finish. Drink now through 2028. 2,263 cases made." –MW

Gigglepot is a vibrant & elegant wine, full of personality. Forthright flavours of raspberry, briar and dried herbs develop into soft layers of mocha and mint on the palate. The nose has cherry & rhubarb notes with a hint of vanilla, complimented by delicate oak elements of toasted coconut and spice. The balance and intensity of the 2016 Gigglepot allows the true personality of McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon to shine.- The Winemaker

Dow Vintage Port 2016 Portugese Dessert Wine 750 mL
Dow Vintage Port 2016 Portugese Dessert Wine 750 mL

Vinous 98 points - The 2016 Dow’s Vintage Port is based around the Vinha dos Ecos vineyard behind Bomfim, populated predominantly by mature Touriga Franca vines that were cropped at just 0.68kg per vine. It has a quite astonishing bouquet with layer upon layer of intense black cherry and cassis fruit, touches of clove, leather and a hint of over-ripe Satsuma. This is a mercurial bouquet that keeps changing in the glass, revealing smoky/burning ember scents with time. The palate is quite magnificent - perfectly balanced with a killer thread of acidity slicing through such pure intense black fruit that there is no heaviness at all. There is a sense of thrust on the finish as it fans out with almost careless abandon, a Vintage Port so self-assured that you can only sit back in amazement. Simply one of the best Dow’s ever made..June/2018

Dow’s Vintage Ports are only produced in years of exceptional quality and represent only a very small part of the total company’s production in that year. On average only two or three times every ten years are the weather conditions sufficiently good to allow for the making of Dow’s Vintage Port. Dow’s Ports avoid an over-rich style and requires a very high degree of skill in wine making and great experience in selecting the finest wines of each year and each vineyard. These wines are aged in seasoned oak casks for some 18 months and are bottled without any filtration or fining whatsoever.

Maison Nicolas Potel Bonnes Mares Grand Cru 2007 Red French Wine
Maison Nicolas Potel Bonnes Mares Grand Cru 2007 Red French Wine
Extremely Limited!

90-93 Points - Burghound, January 2009
"As it almost always is chez Potel, here the nose is deeper and more serious with obvious earth and game notes that add depth to the red and dark berry fruit aromas that merge into delicious, round and distinctly masculine and powerful flavors that are punchy, long and while not rustic, certainly robust. Despite the muscled quality, this is not an especially big Bonnes Mares by the standards of this grand cru though it is certainly focused and intense. Drink 2015+." -Allen Meadows

Extremely limited, No discounts! 92 Points - Wine Advocate, June 2010 "Ripe, well-made, and slightly over-rated in my report written seven years ago, this 2000 exhibits lots of black currants, cherries, smoked herbs, and spice in a full-bodied, round, generous, fully mature style. Delicious at present, it should drink well for another 5-7 years." -Robert Parker

Seavey Cabernet Sauvignon 1994 1.5L
Seavey Cabernet Sauvignon 1994 1.5L

Extremely Limited, No Discounts! 91 Points - Wine Advocate, December 1997 "The glories of this estate remain its Cabernet Sauvignons. After retasting the 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon, I was even more impressed. Made from low yields of approximately 2 tons of fruit per acre, from Seavey's east-facing hillside vineyards in the Conn Valley, the 1994 exhibits an opaque purple color, and an exuberant yet still young and unformed nose of spice, black fruits, and cedar. Full-bodied, with layers of dense, ripe fruit, this rich, full-bodied, moderately tannic wine should be at its best in 3-5 years. It will keep for two decades or more." -Robert Parker

"This wine is still one of my favorite blends to assemble and definitely a favorite to consume on a regular basis. It's always exciting to select barrels from vineyards like Rochioli, Bucher and our Estate to assemble bouquets of ripe blackberry jam, violets, plums, licorice, black truffle and toasty vanilla beans from our oak barrels. The palate flavors of blackberry/raspberry cobbler, cherry cola, cassis, smoked mushrooms and cinnamon coat your mouth with every sip and are very true to the individual lots that aid in the completeness of this assemblage. Ripe abundant tannins cut through the nicely balanced acidity that will make this vintage enjoyable for the next 8 - 10 years." -Winemaker, Bob Cabral

93 Points - International Wine Cellar, May 2012
"(made from fruit grown in the Allen, Bacigalupi, Bucher, Flax, Rochioli Riverblock and Williams-Selyem estate vineyards; 13.9% alcohol): Ruby-red. Explosive, nuanced aromas of candied red fruits, fresh flowers and Asian spices, with deeper cola and licorice nuances gaining power in the glass. Sappy, expansive and appealingly open-knit, offering powerful red and dark berry compote flavors enlivened by allspice and candied rose. Finishes bright and nervy, with a repeating floral quality." -Josh Raynolds

93 points International Wine cellar May/June 2013 2011

Williams-Selyem Winery Pinot Noir Allen Vineyard Russian River Valley Bright ruby.

Black raspberry, cherry-cola and fresh flowers on the highly perfumed nose. Fleshy, nicely concentrated red fruit preserve flavors are braced by gentle acidity and complicated by a candied floral quality. Becomes weightier in the glass while maintaining its vibrancy, finishing sweet and long, with persistent florality. Very sexy already but this pinot is balanced to reward at least mid-term aging.

Vivid ruby-red.  High-pitched aromas of candied flowers, raspberry and Asian spices, with a deeper cola nuance emerging with air.  Lively and precise on the palate, offering sappy red fruit flavors of uncommon depth.  Rich but lithe and focused, with excellent finishing clarity and lingering spiciness.
