Chateau Bellevue Saint Emilion 2003 Red Bordeaux Wine 750 mL
Chateau Bellevue Saint Emilion 2003 Red Bordeaux Wine 750 mL

Rated 93 Points Wine Advocate #164 April 2006

"This 15+ acre estate, situated on a south/southwest-facing slope, has been making sensational wines since 2000, when the management of the vineyard and winemaking were taken over by Nicolas Thienpont and Stephane Derenoncourt. The 40-year-old, bio-dynamically farmed vineyard is planted with 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The 2003 possesses superb ripeness as well as a stony, mineral liqueur-like intensity, a reticent but promising perfume of black raspberries, sweet kirsch, and blacker fruits, a full-bodied, powerful, concentrated attack and mid-palate, and a blockbuster, long, powerful, moderately tannic finish. It is an infant in terms of development. No doubt this site’s clay and limestone soils were the perfect antidote for the summer’s torrid heat and drought. This superb effort should only be purchased by patient connoisseurs. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2025+"

Chateau Bellevue St. Emilion 2000 Red Bordeaux Wine

Extremely limited, No discounts! 95+ Points - Wine Advocate, June 2010 "This was the breakthrough vintage for this fabulous terroir that had been under-exploited for so many years. A collaboration between Nicolas Thienpont and Stephane Derenoncourt, this medium to full-bodied, pure blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc reveals aromas reminiscent of a liqueur of crushed rocks, black currants, and raspberries. The tannins are still present, and the wine is firmer than I expected, but it is loaded. Made in a distinctive, singular, elegant style, it will be even better in 5-6 years, and should last for two decades thereafter - longer than I originally predicted." -Robert Parker

Extremely limited, No discounts! 94 Points - Wine Advocate, June 2010 "A beautiful wine from Branaire, the 2000 is close to full maturity, and should offer plenty of pleasure over the next 15-20 years. Its deep ruby/purple hue is accompanied by scents of boysenberries, black currants, and spring flowers. This medium to full-bodied, pure St.-Julien hits the palate with authority, displaying silky tannins as well as wonderful richness, depth, and texture." -Robert Parker

Chateau Branaire Ducru St. Julien 2003 Red Bordeaux Wine

Extremely limited, No discounts! 95 Points - Wine Advocate, April 2006 "Proprietor Patrick Maroteaux, president of Unions des Grands Crus Classes, is pulling out all the stops to make Branaire as alluring as several of the Leovilles and Ducru Beaucaillou. 2003 and 2004 may be the finest back-to-back vintages ever produced at Branaire. Even better than the 1982, the profound 2003 Branaire Ducru boasts a saturated plum/purple color as well as an extraordinarily complex nose of black currants, blackberries, espresso roast, white chocolate, minerals, and truffles. It displays amazing freshness and definition for such a complex, complete, and full-bodied wine. A brilliant effort in the vintage, it will undoubtedly close down in several years and need more time, but perhaps its low acidity and huge, extravagant fruit-forwardness will keep it drinking well over the next two decades. A brilliant wine!" -Robert Parker

Chateau Brane Cantenac Margaux 2000 Red Bordeaux Wine
Chateau Brane Cantenac Margaux 2000 Red Bordeaux Wine

Extremely limited, No discounts! 92 Points - Wine Advocate, June 2010 "Fully mature and very attractive, the 2000 Brane Cantenac, which started a succession of brilliant wines from this famous estate in the Margaux appellation, has a dark plum/ruby/purple color, a sweet, juicy nose of blue, red, and black fruits, and a hint of damp earth as well as subtle herbs. Spicy, round, complex, very lush, and at its plateau of maturity, this wine should continue to drink well for another 10-15 years at minimum. This is Margaux elegance and silkiness at its very best." -Robert Parker

Chateau Clerc Milon Pauillac 2000 Red Bordeaux Wine
Chateau Clerc Milon Pauillac 2000 Red Bordeaux Wine

Extremely limited, No discounts! 92 Wine Advocate, June 2010 A beautiful wine and one of my favorites from this estate, this blend of nearly two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon and one-third Merlot is aging impressively. Dense ruby/purple in color, with creme de cassis, charcoal, and sweet leathery and chocolatey notes intermixed with the classic Pauillac cedar and spice box, the wine is medium to full-bodied, fleshy, with sweet tannin and a long finish. It seems to have inched into its window of full drinking maturity, and will stay there for 10-15+ years." -Robert Parker

Extremely limited, No discounts! 92 Points - Wine Advocate, June 2010 "Ripe, well-made, and slightly over-rated in my report written seven years ago, this 2000 exhibits lots of black currants, cherries, smoked herbs, and spice in a full-bodied, round, generous, fully mature style. Delicious at present, it should drink well for another 5-7 years." -Robert Parker

Chateau D'Issan Margaux 2000 French Red Bordeaux Wine 750 mL
Chateau D'Issan Margaux 2000 French Red Bordeaux Wine 750 mL

Extremely limited, No discounts! 93 Points - Wine Advocate, June 2010 "Fully mature, the 2000 D'Issan is a quintessentially elegant, yet concentrated, aristocratic Margaux that defines the appellation. The wine has a dark ruby/purple color just beginning to lighten at the edge. Notes of charcoal, acacia flowers, black raspberries, and blue fruits are followed by a medium to full-bodied wine that builds incrementally on the palate. With its outstanding purity, richness, elegance and length, this is a beauty that has reached its window of maturity, where it should stay for another 15 or more years." -Robert Parker
