Austin Hope Hope Family Vineyards Syrah Paso Robles 2013 Red California Wine 750 mL
Austin Hope Hope Family Vineyards Syrah Paso Robles 2013 Red California Wine 750 mL

Rated 93 points Wine Enthusiast September 2016

"Dense aromas of caramel-laced fudge and hickory-smoked meats atop the base of blackberry coulis show on this lavish, delicious bottling. Framed in a chalky structure, the smoked-meat element consumes the palate, which also shows black cherry, vanilla ice cream, caramel and rich milk-chocolate flavorings." Matt Kettman

Klinker Brick Syrah Farrah Lodi Red California Wine 750 mL

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast, previous vintage "Rich and meaty enough to sink your teeth into, this dark and deep Syrah has toasty, smoky aromas. Generous blackberry and boysenberry flavors that are full but not sweet accompany a velvety texture. This is tasty now, but has the layered tannins and acidity for aging. Best now through 2019." —Jim Gordon

Michael-David 6th Sense Lodi Syrah 2013 California Red Wine 750 mL
Michael-David 6th Sense Lodi Syrah 2013 California Red Wine 750 mL

90 Points and Editor's Choice for Wine Enthusiast May 2016

"This wine is a big one, going all out to make friends. New-oak aromas like clove, cedar and cinnamon explode out of the glass, then flavors of dark chocolate and cherry spread across the palate for a generous—almost thick—impression. Fine layers of tannins and firm acidity blanket the texture." - Jim Gordon

Stolpman Estate Syrah 2016 California Red Wine 750 mL
Stolpman Estate Syrah 2016 California Red Wine 750 mL
"At first blush, the wine comes out with a wave of piercingly pure purple - perfectly ripe, firm plums. With a few swirls the savory meaty, leather notes arrive. Then, a surge of high-toned energy emerges and a red tinge begins to layer and surround the evolving darker notes of blueberries, cinnamon, and chicory. Even youthful, the wine is unexpectedly refined and balanced – an Estate Syrah Edition for the ages. this middle ground – not jammy or gloppy like a warmer climate Syrah – but not austere and hollow like many young cold climate Syrahs." - The Winemaker

Tensley Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard Santa Barbara County 2013 Red California Wine
Tensley Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard Santa Barbara County 2013 Red California Wine
94 Points from The Wine Advocate, August 2015

"Always the richest and most powerful of the single-vineyard releases, the 2013 Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard is the only single-vineyard Syrah to see any new oak, yet the oak is always completely soaked up by the wealth of fruit. The 2013s inky purple color is followed by a decadent array of plums, blueberries, smoked herbs and violets characteristics that literally come soaring from the glass. Full-bodied, voluptuous and about as hedonistic as they come with lots of sweet fruit, this powerhouse effort has no hard edges and a great finish. Like a lot of Joey's wines, this pushes on the sweetness level, yet is still one sexy drink."

"Santa Barbara County’s Joey Tensley continues to make ripe, textured and voluptuous wines that deliver serious bang for the buck. The latest 2013s and 2014s are all outstanding. However, recent vintages are pushing on the sweetness level, and in a number of cases, there’s obvious residual sugar in the wines." - Jeb Dunnuck

Zaca Mesa Syrah Mesa Reserve Santa Ynez Valley 2010 Red California Wine
Zaca Mesa Syrah Mesa Reserve Santa Ynez Valley 2010 Red California Wine

92 Points - Wine Spectator, March 2013 "Fresh, snappy and vivid, this red zeros in on a tightly focused beam of wild berry and raspberry flavors, ending with a mouthwatering aftertaste. Drink now through 2020. 696 cases made." -James Laube 93 Points - Wine Enthusiast, February 2013 "This is consistently one of Zaca Mesa's best Syrahs of several bottlings they produce every vintage. The mildly cool year was kind to the fruit, giving controlled blackberry and black currant flavors that are wrapped in refined tannins. The wine finishes with a swirl of smoke and peppery spice, plus a touch of warmth from the alcohol. Drink now-2015." -Steve Heimoff
