2010 Colgin Cellars IX Red Estate Cabernet Sauv 750 mL
2010 Colgin Cellars IX Red Estate Cabernet Sauv 750 mL

"Fresh herbs, cassis, blackberry, truffle, black raspberry, vanilla and oak scents open up the wine. On the palate, the wine is tannic, rich, full bodied and filled with black cherry liqueur and espresso bean. There is a minor hint of dryness in the finish, which stops my score from going higher. The wine was produced from a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot." - Wine Cellar Insider

Black's Station Cabernet Sauvignon Red California Wine 750 mL
Black's Station Cabernet Sauvignon Red California Wine 750 mL

This Yolo County Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits all the classic aromas of cigar box, leather, cassis and dark cherry. Layers of toast, black current and chocolate flavors lead to a long, juicy finish. This easy drinking Cab is perfect with a big, juicy burger or barbecued ribs.

Due east of Napa, tucked away in northern California’s rolling Dunnigan Hills, is a little town called Zamora. But back in the late 1800’s, folks around here used to call it Black’s Station. At its height, this hub founded by J.J. Black boasted a hotel, two stores, a jail, blacksmith shops and a town hall. Today we grow our grapes just three miles from Zamora. We like to think that they carry with them the character and frontier-style of that old town.

Broadside Cabernet Sauvignon Margarita Vineyard Paso Robles Red California Wine
Broadside Cabernet Sauvignon Margarita Vineyard Paso Robles Red California Wine

"Fine California cabernet sauvignon is not restricted to Napa Valley. I've had wonderful cabernets from Sonoma and the Santa Cruz Mountains, and this one from one of the cooler areas in Paso Robles. I've enjoyed Broadside's classically structured cabernet for several vintages now, and the '11 is especially good: dry, rich and slightly tannic, with snappy red fruit and an herbal tinge." -Eric Asimov, New York Times (January 2014) "Broadside Cabernet Sauvignon is the result of our faithful effort to capture a pure and unadulterated representation of the grape and site. With 1000 feet of elevation and a chilling coastal influence, the well-drained soils at Margarita Vineyard provide a balance of stress and sustenance to the vines. Penetrating aromas of black currant and red berries, graphite and spice meet a classically Bordelaise palate with nuance and structure. Resoundingly dry and elegant with fine purity of flavor and a lingering, balanced finish." -The Winery

Burgess Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Napa Red California Wine 750 mL
Burgess Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Napa Red California Wine 750 mL

93 Points Vinous Media Oct 2015

- The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon from Burgess hits the palate with an exotic concoction of dark fruit, pencil shavings, spices, tobacco, cedar, savory herbs, licorice and lavender. Dark and imposing, the 2012 possesses superb richness, with plenty of Howell Mountain character and intensity. The silkiness of the vintage has softened some of the contours, but this remains a distinctly savory and mineral-inflected Cabernet with tons of hillside character. Today, the 2012 comes across as tightly wound and in need of further cellaring, so readers should not be in any rush to open bottles. This distinctly old-school leaning Cabernet will also thrill readers seeking value, as it delivers superb quality and personality for the money. .Antonio Galloni, October/2015

90 Points - Wine Enthusiast, May 2011 "Here’s a good Cabernet for drinking now and over the next five years. It shows classically ripe, smooth Napa tannins that frame exuberant flavors of blackberries, black cherries and cassis. Give it a good long decant before serving." -S.H. 87 Points - Wine Spectator, May 2010 "A savory style, with complex cedar, dried berry and currant, mineral, tobacco and sage flavors. Medium- to full-bodied, ending with firm, minerally tannins. Drink now through 2019. 6,200 cases made." -James Laube "Our Cabernet is grown on the western side of Howell Mountain in Napa Valley. The hillside terroir nurtures very consistent and low yield vines that produce a signature Burgess wine each vintage. Our Cabernet has multiple layers of varietal character and a richness that only mountain fruit can supply. Because of low yields, a spicy aroma infused with berry tones predominates over a generous body and a lasting finish." -The Winery
