Featuring Wines from Raphael Vineyards

Food & Wine
We’re staying local at our free weekly wine tasting this week!  We’re always keen to feature wines from right here on Long Island, and we’re lucky to have so many great vineyards nearby.
This week, we’re featuring wines from local favorite Raphael Wines. Located on Long Island’s North Fork, Raphael produces new-world wines in a traditional, old-world style.
Keep scrolling to learn more about these beauties, and as always, if you can’t make the tasting in person, you can still snag the deals online
Raphael Sauvignon Blanc – fresh and exuberant_
Raphael La Fontana – Electric and zippy with a hint of manly cedar and tobacco
First up is a bold Cabernet Franc, rated 90 points and selected as Editor’s Choice by Wine Enthusiast! It has an old-world feel, and its brambly, herbal flavor will transport you to a medieval fairytale. With notes of bright fruit, black olive, and tomato leaf, this is what Sleeping Beauty’s fairies would drink in their little ivy-covered cottage in the woods. It’s on sale for under $14!
Next up is Raphael’s Merlot. Wine Enthusiast rated it 89 points! Savory and nuanced, it has layered cedar, mushroom, and plum flavors. It’s a little bit wild, with a lingering finish that ends in a whisper. On sale for under $14!
We have another red for you, also rated 89 points and on sale for UNDER $16! The La Fontana is a blend of traditional Bordeaux grapes. Exceptionally electric and zippy for a red, it’s elegantly composed with just a hint of cedar and tobacco.
And finally we have a gorgeous Sauvignon Blanc, Raphael’s “First Label.” Highly-rated across the board, this dry white is grassy and enticing. It’s exceedingly fresh and bright, and is perfect to drink now in 2017.
We hope to see you Saturday from 3-6 for our free tasting! If you can’t make it, you can always shop our weekly specials online!
