Siro Pacenti Brunello di Montalcino 2008
Siro Pacenti Brunello di Montalcino 2008–$59.99 SAVE 20%! (on sale through 06.26.14)
95 Points – Wine Advocate, June 2013
“The 2008 Brunello di Montalcino is deep, textured and impeccably balanced. Dark cherries, plums, tobacco, crushed rocks and spices blossom in the glass. Here, too, the overall sense of harmony is utterly captivating. A gorgeous wine, the 2008 stands out for its exceptional polish. The style is a bit deeper, richer and more layered than the Pelagrilli, but at the same time remains deeply marked by the prevalence of fruit from the northern side of Montalcino. In 2008 Pacenti lost about a third of his production from the south, which means this is a vintage in which the Brunello incorporated more fruit from the north than the south, roughly a 60/40 split. This is a fabulous effort in a vintage that proved to be full of challenges. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2028.” -Antonio Galloni
94 Points – Wine Spectator, June 2013
“Violet, black currant and cherry aromas and flavors define this supple, harmonious Brunello, which is elegant and intense, with dusty yet ripe tannins lending support. It all comes together on the lingering, spice- and mineral-tinged aftertaste. Best from 2017 through 2035. 2,500 cases made.” -Bruce Sanderson

Zestos Blanco Malvar 2013
Zestos Blanco Malvar 2013–$8.49 SAVE 15%! (on sale through 06.26.14)
“Zestos Blanco is perhaps one of the most complex white-wines produced in Spain. It is also a tremendous value. If you have a demanding palate and love the bright acid of Sauvignon blanc and the body of chardonnay, the Malvar grape will greatly reward your taste. ‘Zestos’ means ‘basket’ in Spanish. Not too many years ago, baskets like the ones depicted on the label were used to transport grapes from the vineyard to the wineries. Zestos Blanco exhibits bright tropical fruits, white flowers, litchis and citrus notes. If you like medium- to full-bodied whites, without oak, that are bright, drink Malvar. White spice and fennel on the finish.” -The Importer

Anselmo Mendes Muros Antigos Vinho Verde 2012
Anselmo Mendes Muros Antigos Vinho Verde 2012–$10.19 SAVE 15%! (on sale through 06.26.14)
“70% Loureiro and 30% Alvarinho. On those nose there’s a minerality and steeliness to the wine. Tighter aromas of pear, Granny Smith apple are more pronounced and the riper white stone fruit of the Loureiro takes more of a secondary role. Great underlying, balanced acidity on the palate. The Alvarinho adds a wonderful roundness and richness and fills out the palate beautifully. The fine minerality of this wine sits nicely below the surface and the finish is lingering and moreish.” -The Winery

Vincent Dampt Petit Chablis 2013
Vincent Dampt Petit Chablis 2013–$14.44 SAVE 15%! (on sale through 06.26.14)
“From vines located on a plateau above the town Chablis-Fyé, the wine is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel with selected yeasts and without any enzyme addition. rated 91 points Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar, Sep/Oct 13 By Josh Raynolds
“Vivid purple. Ripe boysenberry and blueberry aromas and an undercurrent of mocha on the nose, with candied licorice and vanilla qualities coming up with air. Lush, weighty and round, showing good thrust to its dark berry liqueur and cocoa flavors. Finishes creamy, round and long, with soft tannins and building notes of plum and dark chocolate.”

Les Garrigues Cotes du Rhone

Les Garrigues Cotes du Rhone–$9.34 SAVE 15%! (on sale through 06.26.14)
“Les Garrigues Cotes du Rhone is reminiscent of the local, lusty, easy-drinking reds in Southern France that are downed by the pitcher in the local cafes.  The wine gets its name from the French word, Garrigues, which means “underbrush of wild herbs and spices.  The indigenous Garrigues which grows wild throughout Southern France is said to impart a slightly spicy flavor to the wines of the region. 60% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre, 5% cinsault & Marselan with no oak used (aged in around 50 cement/50 stainless).” – The Importer (Michael Skurnik Wines)

“This is so salty and lean it recalls Fino Sherry, though it comes directly from the Chilean coast. The texture is riveting, tense and nervous, perfect for a sea bass ceviche. ”
Winemaker’s Notes: The schist soils on which the Max Reserva Sauvignon Blanc grapes are planted enable the roots to grow deep and explore, leading to balanced vine growth and optimum quality grapes, which the cool climate fosters the devolpment of high acidity and the expression of mineral notes.

“A delicious Cabernet that shows abundant minty notes and is generous in acidic red fruits, such as those small and extremely tart berries. And then comes its body, which has an acidic tension, but is also generously concentrated. This wine comes mainly from the classical vineyards in Panquehue, and resumes the traditional sense of the Cabernets from Aconcagua, with notes of herbs and eucalyptus.”
