Shinas Estate Viognier The Innocent 2012
Shinas Estate Viognier The Innocent 2012 — BUY NOW! (on sale through 01.02.14)
“Pale yellow gold in colour, this radiates heady aromas of apricot and melon and seduces the palate with its ripe, full-bodied, soft acid and lightly spicy flavours that are full of apricot, custard and honey. It has an initial Australian ‘sunburnt earth’ character and is quite exciting and distinctive with a fabulous expression of Viognier’s varietal character.” -The Winery

Calcu Cabernet Franc Colchagua Valley 2010
Calcu Cabernet Franc Colchagua Valley 2010 — BUY NOW! (on sale through 01.02.14)
90 Points – Wine Enthusiast, December 2012
“Dark in color, this smells great, with cassis, plum and black cherry aromas, bearing very little herbal character. It feels tight and secure, with ripe blackberry, tobacco and oak flavors.” -Michael Schachner

Lanciola Chianti Classico La Masse di Greve 2010
Lanciola Chianti Classico La Masse di Greve 2010 — BUY NOW! (on sale through 01.02.14)
“This is powerful and rich with velvety tannins and lots of wet earth and dried berries. Full body, chewy tannins and a long finish. Needs two or three years of bottle age to resolve the tannins. Already impressive.”

First Drop Garnacha The Matador Barossa Valley 2012
First Drop Garnacha The Matador Barossa Valley 2012 — BUY NOW! (on sale through 01.02.14)
90 Points – International Wine Cellar, July/August 2013
“Glass-staining ruby. An exotic bouquet displays candied red fruits, allspice and licorice, with a sexy floral overtone. Pliant and sweet in the mouth, offering plump raspberry and cherry flavors and a hint of white pepper. Smoke and bitter chocolate nuances come up on the finish, which features dusty tannins and lingering spiciness.” -Josh Raynolds

Katherine Goldschmidt Cabernet Sauvignon Crazy Creek Alexander Valley 2011
Katherine Goldschmidt Cabernet Sauvignon Crazy Creek 2011 — BUY NOW! (on sale through 01.02.14)
“The thirty acre Crazy Creek Vineyard lies just east of the town of Geyserville in the renowned Alexander Valley wine region. Its old, low vigor vines consistently produce Cabernet Sauvignon with more power and depth than typically found in the appellation…Blackberry, black pepper, and plum flavors enveloped in sweet oak. Round and fleshy middle palate, with nice concentration and good structure. Finishes with silky tannins and a hint of spice.” -The Winery

Carlo Hauner Malvasia delle delle Lipari 2010 375mL

Carlo Hauner Malvasia delle delle Lipari 2010 375mL — BUY NOW! (on sale through 01.02.14)
“95% Malvasia delle Lipari + 5% Corinto Nero. Provenance and blend are identical to the regular Malvasia delle Lipari, though grapes are not only late-harvested, they are also dried on mats or racks (the traditional cannizzi which take their name from canne, reeds) for 15 to 20 days. Color is gorgeous, amber with sunny golden reflections, the bouquet is both lusciously impressive and graceful, richly reminiscent of dried figs, dates, ripe apricots, honey and sweet spice. The palate is velvety and complex, with delicate sweetness that.” -The Importer

Andrew Murray RGB Camp 4 Vineyard Santa Ynez Valley 2012 save 20% through December 26, 2013

“The RGB is named for the blend of Roussanne and Grenache Blanc, which is a typical white wine blend found in and around the small villages in the south of France. Typically Roussanne, which is more difficult to ripen and thus more rare, takes a backseat to the Grenache Blanc, which is a more neutral tasting grape. We like to richen up this blend a bit and include more of the robust Roussanne. The resulting blend is nearly a 50-50 balance between the two varieties. The grapes were whole cluster pressed and then fermented and aged together in a small, temperature controlled stainless tank. This early blending allowed the flavors to come together more completely. After fermentation, the wine was transferred to neutral French Burgundy barrels to allow a bit more oxygen into the wine, which acted to soften and round out the final wine. The aroma of this wine explodes with white flowers, green apple, a tropical/banana note, and a flinty/minerally note. The aromas find their way onto the palate where you will sense a long, round, viscous mouthfeel made complex with a racy acidity. The RGB is clean, fresh, and ready to drink. It should, however, improve over the next couple of years.” -The Winery

Tess Winery Red and White Blend Napa Valley save 20% through December 26, 2013

At Tess we ascribe to the belief that winemaking excellence is less about technique or numbers and more about preserving the essential taste of the vineyard. This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Verdot, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc aged for 10 months in neutral French oak barrels. It is a delightful, refreshing wine that showcases the sweet bright fruit of strawberry, raspberry and watermelon. The texture is surprisingly rich and balanced by crisp, clean acidity. Clean, balanced and elegant, it’s a beautifully done Syrah meant for drinking over the coming 3-4 years. Drink now-2017.” -Jeb Dunnuck

VINIFICATION A part of the grapes is trodden by foot in “lagares”, traditional stone vats from the Quinta. Another is crushed mechanically in steel vats. This mechanical pressing process was designed specifically for Noval, geared to the requirements of our technical team.

MATURING It is matured for 2 years in oak casks and steel vats to preserve the wine’s freshness.
