Here’s Saturday’s line up from our tasting with Tim Dillon with my humble opinions added

Dry Creek Vineyard Chenin Blanc 2011

Rich says: Its a really nice bone dry Chenin, more in the mold of a South African Steen (Chenin Blanc) then a Loire Vouvray with lots of firm mineral notes, light bodied yet focused and and taut with good acidity and underlying citrus flavors.

Pacific Rim Riesling Columbia Valley 2010

90 Points – Wine Enthusiast, November 2011
“Right on the borderline between dry and sweet, this richly fruity Riesling is packed with flavors of peach, apricot, pear, a hint of mint, and a streak of wet stone. There is a lot going on for such an inexpensive wine.” -Paul Gregutt    Rich says “I agree”

Stickybeak Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2009

89 Points – International Wine Cellar, May/June 2011

Bedell Merlot 2008

Rich says: The most Bordeaux styled wine of the day with crisp, herbaceous notes wrapped around a core of berries, very well balanced and a pleasure to drink, good for lamb

Raymond Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Napa 2008

Rich says: A great deal on an underrated Napa producer. A beautiful core of black cherry and cassis layerd with fine tannins and a slight pleasant dustiness. Really classic cab at a good price

Decoy Zinfandel Sonoma County 2009

Rich says” The is Duckhorn’s straight zin, a veritable fruit bomb that feels like biting into a blackberry pie with brushy briary overtones, gives a very ripe sweet impression that would stand up to Teriyaki beef or salmon, spicy barbecued pork or red sauces.

91 Points – Wine Enthusiast, March 2012
